Buys and Sells in the 50 Biggest Bank Stocks

A survey conducted by Z/Yen Group has just indicated that London is no longer the sole world capital of finance, sharing the honor with New York City after a brutal 2009.The big slip for London in the annual ranking was due to highly unpopular tax increases on bonuses, which led to an exodus of top talent, and uncertainties about future banking regulation in the region. While that may be bad news for London banks, it provides a big opportunity for investors looking to capitalize on Wall Street’s resurgence.
Many of you write me often asking for my top bank stocks, and I have been reluctant to recommend any picks specifically because of our own regulatory hangups. Also, it has never really been my place to pitch banks as a “growth guy,” since the big financial firms almost never have the earnings and sales growth I demand.
