Like many big name department stores[1], these companies have benefited from the large number of consumers flocking to malls and online shopping after unemployment numbers decreased and consumers have become more confident in their spending capabilities. Even in 2011, these stocks kept pushing through what was an incredibly volatile year. Investors that held onto these clothing and accessories stocks lucked out over the past 12 months with some returns reaching well over 50%.
