At a typical tech conference, you might get a chance to win an Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) gift card or even an Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad. But at the CanSecWest security conference, things are much different. That’s because Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) is offering up to $1 million in prizes for a hacking contest.
The goal is to encourage coders to come up with exploits for the Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows version of the Chrome browser. Sounds great, huh?
Well, consider that Chrome has proven to have top-notch security technology. For example, last year no hacker at the conference was able to topple it.
But with such juicy cash prizes at stake this year, Chrome may become very vulnerable.
