Apple Reaches New Labor Agreement with Foxconn: Following Tim Cook’s visit to Foxconn’s newly opened Zhengzhou Technology Park, the Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) CEO has reached a new labor agreement with its manufacturing partner. As Reuters reports, Tim Cook has just signed off on a decidedly more humane labor rights contract with the Chinese manufacturer — agreeing to, among other things, tighter safety protocols and upgraded worker amenities. This move toward improving factory conditions bodes well for Apple’s public image, which suffered after revelations of inhumane labor practices at Foxconn’s various manufacturing facilities.

Classic Remake Game Will Be Available for Mac: Fans of the Baldur’s Gate series have long waited for a retooling of the classic title. According to Mac Rumors, the Electronic Arts-owned (NASDAQ:EA) BioWare game Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will be soon be available for Macintosh this summer — and seems exclusively licensed for Apple. Much of the anticipation surrounds the fact that the title also will be available for Apple’s iPad, and might confirm expectations that Apple is moving toward formatting its tablet as a sort of video game handheld as well.

RIM Moving Away from Smartphone Design: Research in Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM) has announced intentions to shift focus away from developing its long-declining Blackberry smartphone, and will instead direct its development efforts toward designing products focused on corporate service. Bloomberg reports that the announcement arrived on the heels of management shakeup that resulted from RIM founder Jim Balsillie leaving the board of directors.
