Spotify Extends Free Trial Period: Sean Parker’s social music creation seems geared for greater exposure. Earlier today, Spotify released a statement on its website announcing a nine month extension[3] of its free music services. Sean Parker first made a name for himself as the co-creator of music piracy milestone Napster, and seems intent on legitimizing online music streaming through Spotify. The current Spotify free trial provides listeners with millions of available tracks, and seems increasingly popular with Facebook users.

Zynga Sets Price of Second Offering: In light of an upcoming second IPO, Zynga (NASDAQ:ZNGA[4]) has just set the price of its shares. Investor’s Business Daily reports that earlier today Zynga evaluated the price of its 43 million shares at a set $516 million. Zynga’s business model is heavily reliant on Facebook partnership, and the reevaluation of its shares may have been carried out in response to Facebook’s much-anticipated IPO.

Spike Lee Apologizes for Egregious Tweet: Spike Lee earned notoriety yesterday when he tweeted the incorrect address of Trayvon Martin’s killer — unleashing the internet equivalent of mob justice against an unsuspecting household. The McClains, the elderly family whose address Spike Lee provided, were terrorized by Twitter followers outraged over the Trayvon Martin slaying — and The Wall Street Journal reports that Spike Lee subsequently issued a genuinely apologetic tweet[5] at 9:30 last night.
