Best Buy to Close These 50 Stores Soon

Battered big-box retailer Best Buy (NYSE:BBY[1]) last month announced its intentions to close 50 of its stores this year. Two of the stores — one in Kansas City, Mo., and one in Scottsdale, Ariz. — have already been closed.

The electronics retailer kept 42 of those locations secret until April 14. Best Buy intends to permanently close most of these locations by May 12. The rest of the 50 are expected to shut their doors for good sometime this summer.

Best Buy said it will help employees at the fated locations find other positions inside Best Buy.
