Twitter’s my “happy hour.” I pop in, toss out some one-liners and mingle. While mingling, I pick up useful pointers, think about topics in a new way and add an insight or two of my own. If I run into a few boring coworkers, I smile politely and walk away — “unfollow.” If I happen upon witty banter, I stick around and try to get to know that group of people a little better. I might even make a few new friends.
Since I work in the financial industry, it makes sense that my Twitter feed buzzes with news about markets, banks, consumer trends and business in general. I’m quick to follow industry pros who are smart, witty and provide timely, relevant information.
If your Twitter habits mirror mine, you’ll want to check out the 101 financial tweeters Business Insider thinks you should follow. The no-nonsense list is insightful and to-the-point, just like many of the tweeters it mentions.
Here’s a peek at 11 of the 101.
