Celebrity Victoria Beckham has added “automobile designer” to her long repertoire of talents. The trendsetting businesswoman, fashion designer, soccer wife-and-mom and ex Spice Girl formerly known as Posh, has co-designed a special edition of the Land Rover Evoque that bears her name.
The “Land Rover Evoque Special Edition with Victoria Beckham,” is said to be as glamorous as one would expect a vehicle under Beckham’s influence would be. In an interview with AutoGuide.com, Beckham described some of her techniques during the early phase of the project.
“When I first started working with the team I did a lot of research, and created mood boards to show the team my love of timeless and classic design. I looked at yachts, luxury jets and classic cars,” Beckham told AutoGuide.
Sales of the new Land Rover will begin in China, and only 200 will be produced. The special editions come with a posh price tag — around $145,000 — but maybe worth it to the buyer who craves limited-edition luxury.
“Both Land Rover and Victoria Beckham are British luxury brands with credibility and global appeal,” Gerry McGovern, Land Rover’s chief designer said in a statement obtained by USA Today. “This dual ‘Britishness’ makes the collaboration even more exciting especially when considering the huge audience for bespoke products around the world, particularly in China, Russia and Brazil where Land Rover is growing.”
