Kraft Fined for Skimping on Hot Dogs

24 packages of Oscar Mayer meat products were below weight

   

iStock 000016290317XSmall 150x150 Kraft Fined for Skimping on Hot DogsInspectors with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection found that 24 packages of Kraft Foods-owned (NYSE:KFT) Oscar Mayer meat products weighed less than advertised.

The skimpy products included 11 packages of beef franks and 13 packages of cold cuts.

A Kraft spokeswoman told the Wisconsin State Journal  that some  changes in  manufacturing and oven temperatures “resulted in unplanned and unwanted variances.”

Kraft has been fined nearly $37,000 for the oversight.
