Inspectors with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection found that 24 packages of Kraft Foods-owned (NYSE:KFT) Oscar Mayer meat products weighed less than advertised.
The skimpy products included 11 packages of beef franks and 13 packages of cold cuts.
A Kraft spokeswoman told the Wisconsin State Journal that some changes in manufacturing and oven temperatures “resulted in unplanned and unwanted variances.”
Kraft has been fined nearly $37,000 for the oversight.
