McDonald’s Vandalized Over Botched Order

At least one accused has demonstrated remorse for retaliating over disappointing drive-through service

Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) isn’t the only popular business chain experiencing odd occurrences in recent weeks. Strange events also have taken place at a few McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD) locations.

Most recently, two men have been charged with vandalism and felony reckless endangerment for throwing bricks through the window of a Tennessee McDonald’s after receiving incorrect orders.

Chris Slate and Sean Mosey had asked a McDonald’s drive-through worker to hold the onions on their cheeseburgers, but the request was accidentally denied. The two men said they weren’t as angry about the incorrect order as they were about the customer service they received after returning to the restaurant.

“We got cussed out and told to get the ‘F’ out of their line,” Slate told Nashville’s WTVF-TV. After that alleged incident, the young men consumed a lot of alcohol and plotted revenge.

Slate, 21, has accepted responsibility for his actions.

“I am 110 percent dumbfounded, not only of what happened, but the fact that I let myself become a part of it,” Slate said. “And I know that Sean (feels) it too.”

Slate also has agreed to enter an alcohol-treatment program.
