Ashton Kutcher, star of Twitter, sitcoms and a slew of films, has made several questionable choices during the past few months. Currently, the quirky star is under fire for an online ad he made with Popchips.
In the ad — which has been pulled — Kutcher wore dark makeup to portray, “Raj,” an Indian Bollywood movie producer with romantic ambitions. The ad outraged many consumers who complained to popchips about its racially offensive undertones.
A spokeswoman for popchips told The Associated Press that the intentions behind the commercial were innocent: “[The commercial] was created to provoke a few laughs and was never intended to stereotype or offend anyone.”
