When it comes to music apps, Spotify is one of the most popular on Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone. However, this week, the company’s users gained another option — on a slightly bigger display — after Spotify launched an iPad app.
It is well-designed and has a snazzy interface that even includes album cover art in HD. The iPad app also can hook up to Apple TV, which allows Spotify to stream music to a home stereo system.
Spotify currently offers a 30-day free trial; after this, you have to pay for the premium service, which ranges from $4.99 to $9.99 per month.
Launched in the U.S. in July 2011, Spotify has seen lots of traction and has put pressure on rivals like Pandora (NYSE:P). The music service already has more than 3 million premium subscribers.
