There’s no other way to say it. Some weird stuff has been happening at Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT). In fairness to the big-box retailer, unusual incidents happen everywhere, every day. But stories of a rattlesnake bite and Satanic symbols painted on a car both happening at stores belonging to the same retail giant are more than a little odd.
Recently, a 25-year-old woman named Jessica, who took her car to a Wal-Mart in Fort Worth, Tex. for a routine oil change, discovered the “Mark of the Beast” on the crossmember of her Ford (NYSE:F) Mustang, according to local news station CBS-DFW.
After learning about the story, CBS-DFW was skeptical and took the woman’s car to an independent garage for further investigation. After the car was put on a lift, the symbols 666, an upside down cross and a pentagram written in light blue sealant — all shown on the picture above — were easy to see.
According to the woman, Wal-Mart has not issued an apology, but has agreed to scrape the symbols off her car.
“I believe in God. It’s just so disrespectful and ridiculous to deface somebody’s property with those kinds of beliefs,” Jessica told the CBS affiliate.
“We’ve looked into the matter,” a Wal-Mart spokesperson told the news station in a written statement. “And although we’ve been unable to confirm the details, we never want our customers to have an unpleasant experience. And we’ve reached out to the customer and will continue to resolve the issue.”
