Angry Birds Goes Deep with the Eagles

This could be the start of a big move by Rovio into major-league sports versions of the popular game

It’s an epic day in NFL history: The Philadelphia Eagles have partnered with Rovio, the creator of the highly popular “Angry Birds” franchise. Yes, there will now be an Eagles version of the game.

To kick things off, Rovio put together this wacky cartoon of a press conference with Eagles head coach Andy Reid announcing some interesting draft picks.

Rovio has been picky with its partnerships, though if the Eagles game works out, the company could have huge opportunities to move on to other bird-titled sports teams. (There are a lot of them!)

Here’s a quick list:

NFL
Baltimore Ravens
Atlanta Falcons
Arizona Cardinals
Seattle Seahawks

MLB
Baltimore Orioles
Toronto Blue Jays
St. Louis Cardinals

NBA
Atlanta Hawks
(The Toronto Raptors don’t qualify despite the evolutionary connection.)

NHL
Pittsburgh Penguins
Chicago Blackhawks
Anaheim Ducks
(“Flyers” and “Red Wings” are too generic.)
