[1]It’s Christmas in July for about 10,000 Lenovo Group (PINK:LNVGY[2]) employees.
The computer maker’s CEO, Yang Yuanqing, recently shared $3 million of his bonus with 10,000[3] of his employees.
The lucky employees, who serve in junior-level positions such as customer service representatives and factory workers, received about 2,000 yuan. That’s the equivalent of about $314.
Yuanqing decided to share the wealth after his annual bonus came in $3 million higher this year. Over all, Lenovo had a stellar year and its CEO reeled in about $14 million — a figure that includes salary, incentives, bonuses and benefits.
One cannot help but hope that the generous act will spur a trend among other CEOs. Perhaps Marissa Mayer, Yahoo‘s (NASDAQ:YHOO[4]) new chief, will share some of her millions[5] if she manages to turn the company around.
