Consumer-products maker Kimberly-Clark (NYSE:KMB) is expanding its Poise brand to include a line of products aimed at the 50 million American women going through menopause. The new products include lubricant for vaginal dryness, panty freshener stickers and feminine wash. There also will be cooling towelettes and roll-on gel items to combat hot flashes.
The brand expansion is not a far-stretch for the company. Poise already specializes in designing products for women affected by a condition known as Light Bladder Leakage (LBL). LBL, the unexpected loss of small amounts of urine, affects women of all ages, but most commonly occurs after childbirth and during menopause. According to the National Association for Continence. one out of every five women over age 40 experience LBL.
The new products are expected to roll out on July 23, The Associated Press reports.
