The Country Star Being Courted as an ‘American Idol’ Judge

[1]American Idol has launched the careers of several country stars such as Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, Bucky Covington and several more. Despite this fact, Idol has never had a judge from the country music genre. That could change.

Several entertainment news outlets have reported that Idol producers are attempting to woo[2] country superstar Brad Paisley to the judges panel. The move would certainly make sense, but it has not yet been confirmed.

Idol announced earlier this week that legendary diva Mariah Carey will join the show next season[3].
