Cinnabon Gets Saucy With New Pizzabon

Reinventing pizza seems to be one of the hottest trends in the restaurant biz.

Domino’s (NYSE:DPZ[2]) is revamping[3], Chuck E. Cheese’s – CEC Entertainment (NYSE:CEC[4]) gave its eponymous mascot[5] a facelift and build-your-own pizza chains are popping up across the U.S. And now, there’s a new pizza in town and it’s called “The Pizzabon.”

The petite pizza creation is from cinnamon-bun maker Cinnabon. And it’s basically a savory version of the sweet treat.

Confession: I’m having a hard time reconciling this new concept.

The product looks yummy. It really does. But, my experience with Cinnabon is so olfactory that I cannot imagine ordering pizza with the sugary aroma of the Cinnabon wafting in the air.

It will be some time before I can test my theory. The Pizzabon is only available in Atlanta at this time[6].
