Shrugging off a simple mistake turned out to be a stroke of fortune for Massachusetts man Richard Brown.
Brown recently won $1 million by scratching off a winning lottery ticket that he he didn’t want. A distracted store clerk gave him a ticket for the game “Sizzlin 7s,” instead of the “Blue Ice 7s” ticket he requested, The Associated Press reports.
The lucky man is said to receive an after-tax lump sum of about $430,000, which he plans to spend on home repairs and a vacation. The store will receive a $10,000 commission for the mistake.
