[1]Facebook (NASDAQ:FB[2]) has expanded its life event options to include “Expecting a Baby.”
With this feature, users can post their news and also look on the “Celebrations[3]” section of their Facebook homepage to see if friends are expecting a new bundle anytime soon.
Expecting parents also can add details to their announcement such as photos, due date, gender, background story — eh, TMI anyone? — names of grandparents and location to name a few.
Not everyone, however, is enamored by babies, news of babies and pictures of babies. If you fall into this category, there’s an app for you.
Unbaby.me[4], is a Google (NASDAQ:GOOG[5]) Chrome app for your Facebook page that “deletes babies from your newsfeed permanently – by replacing them with awesome stuff.” The service is gaining popular among those annoyed by pictures of babies and already has more than 70,000 Facebook “likes.”
