Nike (NYSE:NKE) subsidiary Hurley International is suing clothing retailer Old Navy — which is owned by Gap (NYSE:GPS) — over boardshorts.
In the lawsuit filed last week, Hurley — which owns two patents for the tech associated with its Phantom Boardshorts — alleges that Old Navy is selling boardshorts based on its patents, Portland Business Journal reports.
Hurley has requested an injunction to prevent Old Navy from selling boardshorts. It also is seeking a monetary award for damages.
Nike acquired Hurley for an undisclosed amount in May 2012.
