The behind-the-scenes drama at Fox’s American Idol continues.
Self proclaimed “Dawg Pound” king Randy Jackson will leave the judge’s table, but not the show, TMZ reports.
Jackson, who has been a judge on the show since day one of the first season will take on the role of mentoring the contestants.
Right now, the judges table is a lonely place to be as Mariah Carey is the only one at it. Fox is reportedly looking for three more judges to join Carey, although they may settle for a 3-judge panel.
No one really knows.
It seems that anything related to the televised singing competition is in a state of utter chaos. Since shows like The Voice, America’s Got Talent and X-Factor came on the scene, Idol ratings have been in a downward spiral. That’s why producers are scrambling to find the right mix of judges, yet it seems few celebrities are eager to team up with show.
