Dozens of diners at a Denny’s (NASDAQ:DENN[1]) in New Castle, Calif., were pleasantly surprised last week when a fellow diner paid for their meals[2].

An anonymous mother of two picked up the tab — about $300 and a $40 tip — for approximately 60 patrons who were eating lunch at the restaurant.

Restaurant manager Seto Avakian told CBS Sacramento[3] that in his entire 40-year career, he has never seen one act “bring so much joy to so many.”

“It’s wonderful,” customer Carol Owens told the news station. “I wish more people would do things like that.”

The woman was reportedly insistent upon paying for the meals on the condition that her identity remain protected.
