Jennifer Lopez claims her former driver, Hakob Manoukian, tried to blackmail her. The world-famous entertainer is suing him for $20 million.
Here are the highlights from the J.Lo’s latest ordeal:
- The drama between Lopez and Manoukian began in 2011 after the singer/dancer, her manager and her production company refused to allow the driver to handle security during the production of a music video, CNN reports.
- Manoukian filed a lawsuit against the three in April claiming that not allowing him to handle the security breached his contract.
- Lopez filed her lawsuit against Manoukian last week accusing the driver of trying to blackmail her for $2.8 million. J.Lo alleges that Manoukian threatened to spill the beans about personal information he claims to have known about the entertainer. He also allegedly threatened to report her to the authorities if she didn’t meet his demands.
- The lawsuit against the driver claims he “became hostile and angry because he mistakenly and unreasonably believed he had the unqualified right to designate the security team and profit from any budgetary allocations for such security.”
Lopez has garnered myriad headlines in the past year regarding her skyrocketing career, high-profile divorce, and decision to leave American Idol.
