It’s definitely a tough job market out there — especially for young professionals. But even for those who do have jobs, not all positions — or locations — are created equal.
And so, after conducting nearly 40,000 employee reviews, the company CareerBliss has released its list of the top 20 happiest cities for young professionals (employees with less than 10 years of experience).
Participants were asked to rate their workplace happiness based on work-life balance, compensation, company culture, overall work environment, company reputation, relationships with managers and co-workers, opportunities for growth, job resources, daily tasks and job autonomy.
The study found that, to start, California was clearly the leader overall, and that a positive company culture often was more important than compensation — maybe because, in today’s market, they’re happy to have any compensation at all.
