Companies Increasing DividendsWhile this week was a big one for the stock markets — mostly thanks to encouraging news from the European Central Bank — it was a slow one on the dividend front.

Only 3 companies made it into InvestorPlace’s Companies Increasing Dividends list for the holiday-shortened week of Sept. 4, though one of those companies is a Top 10 Dow dividend stock. (Note: All yields as of Sept. 6 closing prices unless otherwise noted.)

Label and security-product manufacturer Brady Corporation (NYSE:BRC) raised its quarterly dividend 2.7% to 19 cents per share, payable on Oct. 31 to shareholders of record on Oct. 10. The dividend represents the company’s 27th consecutive annual increase in dividends. Brady also announced the authorization of a share buyback program for up to 2 million shares. BRC’s new yield is 2.61%.

Integrated technology solutions provider EPIQ Systems (NASDAQ:EPIQ) raised its quarterly dividend 38% to 9 cents per share, payable on Nov. 27 to stockholders of record on Nov. 9. EPIQ also hiked its dividend 30% in May. EPIQ’s new yield is 2.77%.

Telecommunications giant and regular Top 10 Dow Dividend Stock Verizon (NYSE:VZ) boosted its quarterly payout 3% to 51.5 cents per share, payable on Nov. 1 to shareholders of record as of Oct. 10. This represents the sixth consecutive year Verizon has raised its quarterly dividend. VZ’s new yield is 4.73%.
