Just saw this in the advertisement section of a totally unknown local technology paper:
“World-famous Kindle Fire. 10 months old, recently upgraded. Runs on Android operating system. Price: $169 to $199. Recently kicked out[1] of Target and Wal-Mart. ISO a new home.”
The ad, which took me by surprise, went on:
“Wal-Mart and Target both hate me and blame me for showrooming. I blame consumers. It’s not my fault I offer cheaper shopping.
I’m an outstanding alternative to the Apple iPad or Samsung Galaxy[2], and there is virtually no app that I can’t find[3] for your pleasure or needs. Anyone who offers me a home should know I am in this for the long haul. Also, can actually pay rent unlike that clown, the Barnes & Noble Nook.”
The killer for me was at the end:
“Please don’t make me stay at Best Buy or RadioShack much longer; that’s worse than moving in with my parents. For all I know, they might default soon on their office spaces.
As for the suggestion that I move to one of J.C. Penney’s “store-within-a store” kiosk, that’s not going to happen. I’d get too lonely.
Please help me find a new home!”
