Professional social networking site LinkedIn (NYSE:LNKD[1]) rolled out a new notification feature[2] Wednesday.
The enhancement is similar to the “real-time” notification system used by Facebook (NASDAQ:FB[3]), as it lets users know when someone likes what they’ve shared, comments on their posts, views their profile and more.
Here’s how it works:
Although the new feature was introduced yesterday, LinkedIn says it will take a few weeks before all members’ pages are updated with the new feature.
The company also will soon be launching a new app that allows users to see their LinkedIn notifications via mobile devices like Google‘s (NASDAQ:GOOG[4]) Android and Apple‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL[5]) iPhone and iPad.
