The odds against them are beyond absurd. Three separate members of the same Norwegian family have won the lottery over the last six years. The family, from the western island of Austevoll, has won about $4 million overall.
19-year-old Tord is the latest member of the Oksnes family to pick the seven-number lottery correctly, reports BBC News Europe. He won 12 million kroner. Tord follows his sister Hege Jeanette (8.2 million kroner) and his father Leif (4.1 million broker) in winning.
The family’s wins have all coincided with the birth of Hege Jeanette’s children, according to The Huffington Post. Her first child was born one day after her father’s win and the second and third came near her own and her brother’s win. Hege Jeanette has three other brothers, none of whom have won. They encourage her to have more children, but the 29-year-old gas-station attendant says that’s unlikely.
