Deanna Jump has turned teaching into a million dollars.
Jump, a first-grade teacher at Central Fellowship Christian Academy in central Georgia, has sold more than 160,000 lesson plans to other teachers. Jump uses teacherspayteachers.com to sell her plans for anywhere between $5 and $9 each.
A colleague suggested to Jump that her plans were good enough to benefit other teachers around the country, CNN reported. From the response, the market agrees.
The site, started by former teacher Paul Edelman in 2006, was launched to allow teachers to share and sell lesson plans, activities and other ideas for the classroom. Each lesson plan shared covers about two weeks worth of instruction.
Jump isn’t the only teacher turned entrepreneur. More than $14 million have been earned on the site so far.
