CareerBuilder partnered with Economic Modeling Specialists (EMSI) to review U.S. employment trends and determine which occupations are seeing job growth after suffering during the downturn.

The following four occupations — hit hard by the recession — are showing significant job growth, according to CareerBuilder and EMSI:

  1. Metal-Refining Furnace Operators and Tenders – 16% growth since 2010, after a 16% decline in jobs between 2007 and 2009
  2. Computer-Controlled Machine Tool Operators, Metal and Plastic – 13% growth since 2010, after a 23% decline in jobs between 2007 and 2009
  3. Pourers and Casters, Metal – 14% growth since 2010, after a 16% decline in jobs between 2007 and 2009
  4. Engine and Other Machine Assemblers – 13% growth since 2010, after a 23% decline in jobs between 2007 and 2009
