4 Occupations Making a Post-Recession Comeback

[1]While the job market remains sluggish, some professions are recovering from the economic downturn[2] despite losing a significant amount of jobs when the economy went sour.
CareerBuilder partnered with Economic Modeling Specialists (EMSI) to review U.S. employment trends and determine which occupations are seeing job growth after suffering during the downturn.
The following four occupations — hit hard by the recession — are showing significant job growth[3], according to CareerBuilder and EMSI:
- Metal-Refining Furnace Operators and Tenders – 16% growth since 2010, after a 16% decline in jobs between 2007 and 2009
- Computer-Controlled Machine Tool Operators, Metal and Plastic – 13% growth since 2010, after a 23% decline in jobs between 2007 and 2009
- Pourers and Casters, Metal – 14% growth since 2010, after a 16% decline in jobs between 2007 and 2009
- Engine and Other Machine Assemblers – 13% growth since 2010, after a 23% decline in jobs between 2007 and 2009
