Sometimes a man just can’t know what to feel. Life has that special way of pushing a guy this way and that. It can be confusing.
That’s what happened to Sandeep Singh of Massachusetts recently. Singh, 22, was dumped by his longtime girlfriend and in some pain, then he won $30.5 million in the Megamillions lottery — and the pain went away! That’s quite a combination of events for one community college student to go through.
The tickets were purchased by Singh’s sister when he, a regular player of the Megamillions lottery, didn’t have time to make his regular stop. Singh has elected to take the one-time payout. After taxes, that’ll be about $16 million. He plans to pay off his mother’s house and share his winnings with his sister.
Singh had been working at both McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD) and Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) to help his mother pay her bills. He’ll be stopping both of those now. He also says he’s getting over the girlfriend thing.
