Man Gets Dumped, Wins $30 Million Lottery

Sometimes a man just can’t know what to feel. Life has that special way of pushing a guy this way and that. It can be confusing.

That’s what happened to Sandeep Singh of Massachusetts recently[1]. Singh, 22, was dumped by his longtime girlfriend and in some pain, then he won $30.5 million in the Megamillions lottery — and the pain went away! That’s quite a combination of events for one community college student to go through.

The tickets were purchased by Singh’s sister when he, a regular player of the Megamillions lottery, didn’t have time to make his regular stop. Singh has elected to take the one-time payout. After taxes, that’ll be about $16 million. He plans to pay off his mother’s house and share his winnings with his sister.

Singh had been working at both McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD[2]) and Best Buy (NYSE:BBY[3]) to help his mother pay her bills. He’ll be stopping both of those now.  He also says he’s getting over the girlfriend thing.
