[1]Donald Trump sure has the one thing he seems to crave the most: his name in the papers. This time it’s because of a petition asking retailer Macy’s (NYSE:M[2]) to end the company’s relationship with the real estate tycoon.
More than 400,000 people have signed the online petition, which is located at signon.org[3]. The petition cites Trump’s “sexist” comments and his pursuit of President Obama’s original birth certificate as reasons why Macy’s should abandon him.
A spokesman for Trump said the bond between Macy’s and The Donald is a strong and important one. He went on to say that Trump’s fashion and accessories lines are top sellers for the retail chain.
Trump, a veteran tweeter, has not responded to the petition either in person or via Twitter. He did release a tweet earlier this week about his new clothing line available at Macy’s.
