Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) users can now send their friends credits to use on Apple‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iTunes online store.
The social media giant said on Monday that iTunes credits would be available through its Facebook Gifts service. Facebook Gifts debuted in September, offering Facebook yet another way to cash in on holiday and special events gift-giving between its users, the Los Angeles Times noted.
Facebook users are reminded of other users’ birthdays through a birthday cake icon that leads to the Facebook Gifts store. Users who receive gifts can accept the gift, or exchange it for a similarly-valued offering at the Facebook Gifts store.
Credits for iTunes — purchased in $10, $15, $25 or $50 amounts — can be used to purchase music, TV shows, movies, apps and books.
Shares of both Facebook and Apple dipped fractionally in Tuesday morning trading.
