Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan was arrested last night for assaulting a woman in a New York City nightclub.
Lohan, who was partying at Club Avenue in New York’s Chelsea district, was arrested at 4 a.m. and booked for third-degree assault, reports the Associated Press. She left the police precinct after dawn this morning.
The arrest follows an argument the actress had with another woman at the nightclub. Lohan allegedly struck the woman with her hand during the course of the disagreement. No injuries are reported in the incident.
Lohan is well-known to law enforcement in NYC. Twice in September she was was involved with police, once accusing a man of assaulting her, and once she was investigated for a hitting a man with her car. Neither incident led to an arrest. In October, police responded to a call about a fight going on between Lohan and her mother on Long Island. Again, no arrests were made.
Lohan, who has recently starred in the Lifetime original movie, Liz & Dick, is on probation stemming from a California incident in which she was convicted of taking jewelry from a store “without permission,” as the AP described the offense.
