One of the few holdouts concerning selling their music via digital download, the band announced Monday that it had reached an agreement with Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) to sell the band’s entire catalog via iTunes, according to the Los Angeles Times.
As of Monday afternoon, the iTunes store was sporting a large AC/DC logo with the words, “Catalog Now Available.” That catalog includes 16 studio albums, four lives albums and three compilations. Purchasing options at the iTunes store include all the studio albums for $99.99; a complete set including the live albums and rarities from the band, for $149.99; an exclusive live album entitled Live at River Plate for $14.99; and, of course, AC/DC ringtones.
It’s no surprise AC/DC was so late to digital selling. Singer Brian Johnson even predicted that if the music industry wasn’t careful, digital downloaded would destroy it.
