Angus T. Jones, who stars as Jake Harper in the CBS (NYSE:CBS) sitcom Two and a Half Men, no longer likes his own show.
In an interview, Jones says that the show is “filth” and asks people not to watch. The statements appear in a video that Jones recorded as religious testimony for The Forerunner Chronicles. It was recorded in his trailer on the set of Two and a Half Men, according to USA Today.
In the testimony Jones states, “If you watch Two and a Half Men, please stop watching Two and a Half Men. I’m on Two and a Half Men. I don’t want to be on it…. Please stop filling your head with filth.” He goes on to point out the effects of TV on the brain and that he doesn’t know if it means more coming from him.
Two and a Half Men, already controversial due to its adult-themed content and its 2011 conflicts with former star Charlie Sheen, is one of the more popular shows on TV.
Warner Bros. (NYSE:TWX), which produces the show, has not commented on Jones’ statements.
