The actor pleaded not guilty in a New York state court to charges of failing to file his state taxes from 2008 through 2010. The District Attorney for Rockland County says that Baldwin owes $350,000 in back taxes and penalties. He could also face up to four years in jail, according to the BBC.
Baldwin, who has appeared on several reality shows and currently co-hosts a conservative radio program, says that he is working to resolve the situation. He claims that he had poor financial representation during the years in question. Baldwin, after his court appearance, delivered to the court a check for $100,000 as a sign that he is hoping to resolve the matter quickly.
Baldwin has encountered financial difficulties in the past. In 2009 he filed for bankruptcy. He cited more than $2 million in debts, including $1 million in back taxes.
The actor is the youngest brother of the Baldwin family of actors. His older brother, Alec Baldwin, is a star on the hit series 30 Rock.
