Called Kindle FreeTime Unlimited, the new offering aims to provide more content for kids age 3 to 8. Amazon hopes to promote Kindle use among younger users and to bond them to the device as they grow.

Subscribers to the new service will have access to thousands of items of new content, reports the Associated Press. Kids whose families subscribe will be able to access the service for an unlimited amount of time. Parents, however, can set up profiles for their children and set limits for the amount of time each child can be online.

The cost for the service will vary. A family subscription, which covers up to six children, will be $9.99 per month, while an individual subscription will be $4.99 per month. Discounts, up to 40%, are available for users who already subscribe to Amazon Prime.
