Coming Soon: 40 New Apps for Xbox Live

[1]Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT[2]) is planning to launch more than 40 new apps for the Xbox 360.
The apps, which will appear by spring 2013, are part of the company’s efforts to redefine the Xbox 360 as more than a game platform, CNet reports[3]. The apps run the gamut from Flixster to The CW Network and provide entertainment and information services.
Last year, as a part of the effort, Microsoft updated the Xbox 360 to include Hulu, ESPN and other programming networks. The new apps will also feature connectivity to the cloud and allow users to connect their systems with their TVs and well as other home devices.
