watching tv television cable 630 300x200 Disney Inks Deal With Cox CommunicationsOn Thursday, Cox Communications and Disney (NYSE:DIS) announced a new mult-year affiliate and content distribution deal to keep Disney media content on Cox’s cable systems, while expanding access to video streaming platforms.

Under the deal, subscribers to Cox’s pay TV service will be able to stream video content from 70 Disney services, including ABC On Demand, ABC Family on Demand and various Disney-branded On Demand services. The two companies did not reveal the financial terms of their agreement, which comes before the expiration of their current contract, The Hollywood Reporter noted.

The deal also includes access to WatchESPN, a new sports streaming video service that debuts on Friday, offering content from ESPN’s various cable sports networks, including ESPNU and ESPN Goal Line.

Cox subscribers who have an Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad or iPhone will be able to watch ESPN Classic and ESPNEWS via Cox’s TV Connect app on home WiFi connections.

Shares of Disney fell fractionally in Friday morning trading.
