When a Houston, Texas, family didn’t find an expected delivery on their doorstep, they checked their home surveillance camera and got a surprise.
The family had received an email from FedEx (NYSE:FDX) confirming the delivery of the package, which contained an Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad Mini, the Daily Mail noted.
Reviewing the video from their surveillance camera, positioned over the front door, they saw the FedEx delivery man drop off the package at the noted time. Some time later, a UPS (NYSE:UPS) delivery man arrived to drop off a second package.
But then, minutes later, the UPS delivery man returned to the doorstep and took the FedEx package that contained the iPad Mini.
The family posted the video online after UPS was slow to respond to their complaints. UPS has since determined the identity of the delivery man and terminated his employment, which is the least of his problems, since he’s now facing theft charges.
Shares of both FedEx and UPS slipped fractionally in Wednesday midday trading.
