[1]Tons of stolen maple syrup were recovered by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Sûreté du Québec after a raid on a New Brunswick, Canada, facility last week[2].
The syrup had been misappropriated from a distribution center in Saint-Louis-de-Blandford, Quebec, in August. Thieves had siphoned the sweet amber-colored syrup, valued at more than $20 million, from 16,000 barrels stored at the facility, the Montreal Gazette noted.
No one was arrested during the raid. Police did not indicate how much of the stolen syrup had been recovered, but a large amount has been returned to the distribution center.
The syrup was covered by insurance.
