The actor, who also wrote a check last year to help Lindsay Lohan, paid $12,000 toward the funeral of photographer Chris Guerra, USA Today reports. Guerra was killed earlier this year after taking a picture of Justin Bieber’s car. Bieber was not with the car when the pictures were taken.
A spokesman for Sheen said in a statement:
“A tragic incident like this erases the line between the photographer and the subject. It’s an unforgiving moment that begs us all to be human and work as one to prevent this in the future. As parents, we are all not supposed to bury our children. My deepest condolences to the families involved.”
Sheen has made a habit of writing checks. In addition to his earlier help for Lohan, he’s given $250,000 to help injured soldiers and $75,000 to assist a girl with cancer.
