An ex-bodyguard of singer Justin Bieber is suing him, claiming the teen pop star assaulted him.
In the suit, Moshe Benabou accuses Bieber of verbally berating and repeatedly punching him during a disagreement about the handling of a member of Bieber’s entourage, Fox News is reporting. The suit states that the confrontation took place in October, and that Bieber fired Benabou that night.
Benabou is seeking more than $42,000 in unpaid overtime and vacation pay, as well as an unspecified amount for the assault. Benabou claims he was not informed that he was eligible for overtime pay during his time in Bieber’s employ.
An attorney for Benabou released a statement saying, “For nearly two years Mr. Benabou devoted himself completely to ensuring Mr. Bieber’s personal safety. Mr. Benabou deserved, as does any employee, to be treated with respect, dignity and in accordance with the law. Unfortunately, he was not.”
Bieber’s spokesman did not respond to inquiries by Fox News.
