LEGO Logo 300x300 Lego Adds iOS Remote Control to Robot KitAs if children weren’t tech-savvy enough, soon they’ll be able to use their Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches to control their mechanized Lego creations.

The maker of the iconic colored bricks is introducing wireless iOS device interaction in its new Mindstorm EV3 robotics kit, which debuts Monday at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the Associated Press noted.

Mindstorm kits let users build Lego robots. The latest kit allows those robots to be controlled remotely with iOS devices though Bluetooth wireless connections. Priced at $350, the Mindstorm EV3 kit will hit stores in the second half of this year.

But Apple devices are late to the party. Lego has already released Mindstorm kits that interacted with devices running Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android operating system. Those kits were incompatible with Apple gadgets because they didn’t possess a chip necessary to permit iOS to recognize Lego electronics.

Shares of Apple fell about 2% in early Monday trading.
