The newest menu item for McDonald’s (NYSE:MCD)? Fish McBites.
The company announced yesterday that, following a series of market tests, Fish McBites will debut nationally next month, The Wall Street Journal reports. The announcement came at the same time McDonald’s announced its Q4 results.
The McBites are made from the same fish used in the restaurant’s Filet-O-Fish sandwich. The limited-time product will be available in three sizes. The firm is also launching a contest for fans to come up with a music video for its new Fish McBites song.
Fish McBites are part of a menu revamp that McDonald’s is undergoing. With a new dollar menu and the return of the popular McRib, the chain hopes to boost sales in the first half of 2013. The company acknowledged that market share is growing but demand for food overseas is slipping.
