Monday Apple Rumors: 128GB iPad May Debut Soon

daily apple rumors 300x180 Monday Apple Rumors: 128GB iPad May Debut Soon[1]Here are your Apple rumors[2] and AAPL news items for today:

More Memory: Sources tell 9to5Mac that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL[3]) is about to release an additional model to its standard-sized, fourth-generation iPad line[4]. The new iPad will be priced at $799 for units featuring WiFi connections only, and $929 for units offering cellular connectivity. Rumors have circulated for some time that the company is preparing to introduce an iOS device with 128GB of memory. The pricing suggests that the new iPad will offer a memory capacity upgrade. The currently available 64GB model — the largest memory capacity now offered – is priced at $699 with WiFi connectivity only, and $829 for cellular connectivity.

Cheaper Styling: Despite recent comments from Apple CEO Tim Cook, indicating that the company would not pursue low-cost devices, more details have surfaced surrounding an alleged low-cost iPhone aimed at emerging markets[5], iLounge notes. The cheaper iPhone reportedly features a 4-inch screen, like the iPhone 5, but will be slightly thicker. It ditches the iPhone 5′s aluminum and glass casing for cheaper plastic and combines design touches borrowed from the iPod Touch. From the front, the lower cost iPhone will resembled an iPhone 5, but from rear it will look like an iPod Touch. The cheaper iPhone is expected to sell at about $199 a unit without a carrier subsidy.

Group Action: Twelve British Apple device users are suing Google (NASDAQ:GOOG[6]), alleging that the company illegally tracked their online activities[7], the Telegraph notes. The plaintiffs used Apple’s Sarari browser to surf the Internet on their computers and mobile devices. They claim that Google planted cookies into their browsers that allowed the search giant to monitor what websites they visited, despite activating anti-tracking measures in Safari. There have been persistent media reports that Google has been ignoring privacy settings in the Safari browser in order to monitor user activities online. Last year, Google was hit with a $22.5 million fine by U.S. regulators for planting tracking cookies in Safari browsers[8].
