Sbarro pizza is offering a new, lighter slice of pizza to its customers.
The new menu item debuted on Tuesday as the “Skinny Slice,” The Huffington Post reports. It features portobello mushrooms, onions, two types of peppers and two types of cheese, all for 270 calories per slice. In contrast, a standard slice of Sbarro’s pizza weighs in at 460 calories.
The move is an attempt to join the trend of food companies offering lower-calorie items for the health conscious. Earlier, The Cheesecake Factory, winner of one of the Center for Science in the Public Interest’s ‘Xtreme Eating Awards’ for it’s high-calorie menu, launched a “Skinnylicious menu.”
